OK…We’ll admit it! We fell a bit behind when it came to updating the website. That guilt really kicked in once we realized that pictures from the Christmas party back in 2017 haven’t been posted. Here’s one for ya’!
Some things haven’t changed and that is a good thing. The days and times of our meeting is an example. The format is still the same as you remember it.
We start the meetings off with an icebreaker. Then we’ll complete some writing exercises. Finally, the floor becomes available for anyone who would like to workshop their material. Stand-up, humorous notes, blogs…all forms of comedy are welcomed.
Meeting are FREE to attend and held on Monday nights (with the exception of certain holidays).

Past events:
Things continued to keep us on our comedy writing toes this year. For example, we were delighted to be included as a part of the #202Creates event in April.
(BTW – They host meetings on the last Tuesday of each month. It’s a great opportunity to meet and network with some really creative minds).
DC Comedy Writers Group Summit
April was “National Humor Month”, so we created an all-day summit to help people improve their comedy awareness. The day was spent reviewing books in great detail, reviewing films, and discovering other comedy resources. Comedy shorts created by members and friends of our comedy community were highlighted (including Story District, DC Shorts, and Cultivated Wits).
Special thanks to MakeOffices for allowing us to use their K Street location for this event.
In a nutshell…that’s what’s been going on with us. If you’re a member of our Facebook group, you’ll notice we’re really active on that platform. If you’re on Twitter, please find us at @dccomedywriters.
It’s probably been a while since some of you have seen us. Don’t feel guilty. We don’t! Just bring your notebook and come to a meeting. Keep Writing, and we’ll see ya’ soon!
